Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data is processed when you visit the GetBox website and use the GetBox app. We aim to collect as little as possible and do not sell personal data.
Who we are
GetBox is a local software store for Windows. The site getbox.ne-nas.ru describes the product and links to downloads on GitHub Releases. For privacy questions, open an issue in the IncludeSpecial/GetBox repository on GitHub.
Website (landing)
We do not ask for registration, email, or payment details on the site.
Your browser may store the selected UI language in localStorage. This is only for convenience and is not used as an account on our servers.
To show current releases, the page requests the list from our server (Vercel), which takes it from the public GitHub API. If the server is unavailable, your browser calls api.github.com directly. The list is cached in localStorage for a few minutes.
The site is hosted by a hosting provider (Vercel). The provider may process technical logs (IP, User-Agent, request time) as needed to operate and protect the service, under its own terms.
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not store IP addresses: it records the page, referrer, country, device and browser type in anonymized form. Visitors are not tracked across sites or across days.
Fonts are served from the same domain as the site; no third-party font services are used.
GetBox application
The app runs on your computer. Software installs happen locally via the GetBox catalog and package managers Scoop, winget, and Chocolatey.
GetBox does not require a GetBox account. We do not receive your install activity as a cloud analytics account.
When downloading installers and packages, your computer contacts official sources and repositories of the chosen providers. Those services have their own policies.
To check for new versions of GetBox itself (at launch and every 6 hours, from 1.3.0 on), the app calls api.github.com and downloads the update from GitHub Releases. Program icons are loaded from cdn.jsdelivr.net. These requests carry no account data — GetBox has no accounts.
Technical data (paths, install queue, catalog cache, update history, appearance settings) stays locally in %LOCALAPPDATA%\GetBox\ and is not sent anywhere.
Cookies and similar
See the Cookie Policy for details. In short: we do not use mandatory marketing tracking cookies; UI language is stored in localStorage.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal data or share it with third parties for ad targeting.
Data processed by GitHub, Vercel, or package managers is governed by those services’ policies.
Your choices
You can clear the site’s localStorage in browser settings and uninstall GetBox along with local data on the device.
If you believe we process your data differently, open a GitHub Issue and we will look into it.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product or infrastructure changes. The current version is always on this page; the update date is shown above.
